Senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sudip Bandopadhyay said after a meeting of party leaders here on Friday that the party would tread its own path keeping distance from both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Bandopadhyay, however, said the party was not talking about a third front as of now and warned that the Congress should not believe that it is the “Big Boss” of the opposition.

After a meeting at TMC chief Mamata Banerjee’s residence, Bandopadhyay said that in the coming days the party would hold discussions with powerful regional parties to chalk out a strategy to take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. “We will go our own way, keeping distance from the Congress and the BJP. We are not talking about forming a third front as of now… The Congress should not feel that it is the ‘Big Boss’ of the opposition front,” he told reporters. Is.”
