Change 2 thousand note in bank from today

Farewell of 2 thousand pink notes is going to start from today. From today, Rs 2,000 notes will be deposited in banks across the country. People can deposit two thousand notes in their bank account without any limit. On the other hand, a limit of 20 thousand has been kept for those who do not have an account. 2 thousand notes will be deposited till 30 September. At the same time, RBI has also clarified the reason for removing 2000 notes from the market. RBI says that 2000 note is being closed under the clean note policy, because the fixed age of the note is coming to an end.

Note exchange period is 4 months

RBI has also clarified the reason for keeping the period of depositing Rs 2,000 note for 4 months. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said that people should take the government’s decision seriously and deposit the Rs 2,000 notes with them in the bank on time. At the same time, RBI has decided to provide the facility of depositing notes of Rs 2,000 for Indians living abroad and those who have gone on foreign tour. The RBI governor says that the purpose of introducing the Rs 2,000 note has been fulfilled. What the RBI governor said, the former principal secretary to PM Modi, Nripendra Mishra also said the same thing.

Has RBI implemented any new rule?
Let us tell you that under the Clean Note Policy, RBI is withdrawing Rs 2,000 notes. RBI has not implemented any new rule to change 2 thousand notes. To exchange pink notes, the same rules will apply in the bank as they were earlier. The decision to withdraw the Rs 2000 note is part of currency management. The important thing is that currency notes of Rs 2000 will continue to be legal tender.

Note printing was stopped for last 4 years
Significantly, in 2016, after the demonetisation, the government issued a note of 2 thousand rupees. In the last 4 years, RBI had stopped printing Rs 2000 note and now in the journey of 6 and a half years, Rs 2000 note, which became the pride of crores of people’s pockets, is bidding farewell from today. RBI has started the facility of exchange and deposit of 2 thousand notes in all the banks of the country from today. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has appealed to the people not to panic, go to the bank comfortably and change the notes.
