New Delhi: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal will meet Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray at his Matoshree residence today. On the other hand, on May 25, he will also meet NCP leader Sharad Pawar. During this, Kejriwal will try to get the support of these two leaders in the Rajya Sabha against the central government’s ordinance.

In fact, by bringing an ordinance in Delhi, the Central Government has given the right of transfer and posting to the Lieutenant Governor. Now Kejriwal is trying his best to stop this ordinance in the Rajya Sabha and is trying to get the support of the opposition parties. Recently, CM Kejriwal had met West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, after which Mamta had opposed the central government’s ordinance regarding Delhi and appealed to all non-BJP parties to oppose this ordinance in the Rajya Sabha. Kejriwal has also met Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

What is the whole matter, eyes fixed on YSR Congress and BJD

In fact, the Modi government wants that the Lt. Governor should remain the real boss in the matter of transfer-posting in Delhi. That is why the Central Government has brought an ordinance to form the ‘National Capital Civil Services Authority’. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party YSR Congress and Naveen Patnaik’s BJD can play a big role if this ordinance is presented for approval in Parliament in the monsoon session.

This is the reason why Kejriwal has started mobilizing the opposition because if Kejriwal gets the support of the opposition then this ordinance will not be passed in the Rajya Sabha. Due to the strength of the members in the Lok Sabha, the government will easily pass the ordinance there, but if Kejriwal gets the support of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, then the issue of passing the ordinance may hang because the BJP-led NDA in the Rajya Sabha Majority is not achieved.

This is the reason why everyone’s eyes are on YSR Congress and BJD as to what decision they take in this matter. Because both these parties adopt the policy of equal distance from Congress and BJP.

What is the equation of Rajya Sabha

The total number of members in the Rajya Sabha is 245, but at present there are 238 members in the Rajya Sabha and 120 members are required for a majority. The NDA has the support of 110 members in the Rajya Sabha. UPA has 64 members. At the same time, other opposition parties also have 64 members.
