A well-known American businessman from Pakistan has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the emerging India under his leadership. This Pakistani businessman has said that “India is winning on every front and the world needs to learn from it.” The businessman described the political and economic situation in Pakistan as “sad and frightening”. Donald Trump’s Republican Party leader Sajid Tarar said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the US later this month would be a historic one. Modi will be visiting the US from June 21-24 at the invitation of US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. He said on Tuesday, “This will be a historic visit of Modi to America.
Imagine India’s foreign policy that they (US) are offering it NATO plus membership. India is not interested in this as it values its relations with Russia.” Tarar was referring to a recent resolution passed by the House of Representatives Select Committee on China, which recommended that India “Also, they (India) already have the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) bloc,” he said in an interview to PTI. They already have the G-20, they already have the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
India does not want to underestimate its role in the world
Tarar said India does not want to undermine its leadership or its future role in the world. “India is winning on all fronts and the world needs to learn from it. To be honest, I am looking forward to another wonderful, wonderful visit to America by Modi.’ The businessman said that addressing a joint session of the US Congress is a great honor for any world leader. “It would be remarkable,” he said. It is noteworthy that Modi will also address a joint session of the US Congress during his US visit. Responding to a question related to Pakistan, he said that the country is passing through very difficult times. Tarar said, “Not only your political stability, but at the same time financial crisis and none of the parties involved have any roadmap for economic reform or any political reform. This is a very sad and serious situation in Pakistan right now.
Pakistan itself is responsible for its plight.
Stating that every Pakistani is responsible for their plight, the businessman said, “You cannot blame one person or one party. This is the whole country. Because Pakistan’s number one issue right now is corruption.” He added, “There is no accountability. Every institution and judiciary is not working. Legislation is a joke, there is no opposition party. All political parties, they are part of the hybrid system in Pakistan. I blame everyone. Right now, if you ask me personally, there is no single organization that has a solution for Pakistan. It is a very sad situation.” He stressed that the people of Pakistan have to become Pakistanis to find a solution. Tarar alleged, “Right now, the regime, who is running Pakistan…they have Pakistani passports, but with their heart and mind, they live in the West; Their children are here, their properties are here, their bank accounts are here. He goes to Pakistan on a part-time basis and makes policies there. Then they come back.”
