Pune: Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar on Thursday said that the Congress is a part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and it should sort out its internal issues. Pawar also condemned the alleged attack on Congress’s Maharashtra Legislative Council member (MLC) Pragya Satav. Let us inform that apart from NCP and Congress, Uddhav Thackeray-led faction of Shiv Sena is included in Maha Vikas Aghadi. After the 2019 assembly elections, the three parties together formed the government and Uddhav Thackeray became the chief minister.
Difficulties increased after MLC elections
When asked about the visit of a senior state Congress leader to Delhi, Pawar termed it as a good move. The former deputy chief minister said, “We are a constituent of the MVA and feel that whatever confusion has arisen within the Congress after certain incidents should be cleared and the issue resolved.” In the State Congress, a lot of problems are being seen since the MLC election of Nashik Graduate Constituency. In this election Satyajit Tambe, nephew of senior leader Balasaheb Thorat, won as an independent candidate.
Disagreement continues among big leaders of Congress
A few days ago, Thorat had written a letter to the party high command expressing his inability to work with state Congress president Nana Patole because of his “anger”. Thorat said that he is not consulted before taking any decision. Pawar, however, condemned the alleged attack in Hingoli district on MLC Pragya Satav, wife of late Congress leader Rajeev Satav. Addressing NCP workers here, Pawar asked them to ensure the victory of MVA-backed candidates in the Kasba and Pimpri-Chinchwad bypolls.
