There is a basic difference between brain stroke and brain haemorrhage, says Dr Rahul Gupta, director of brain and spine surgery at Fortis Hospital, Noida and former consultant at Chandigarh PGI. Actually there are two types of brain stroke. First ischemic brain stroke and second hemorrhagic brain stroke. Hemorrhagic brain stroke is also called brain hemorrhage. Ischemic brain stroke or attack occurs when there is some kind of obstruction in the veins that supply blood to the brain and the circulation of blood is interrupted. Ischemic brain stroke occurs in 85 percent of the people of the country. It is also called lifestyle disease. Whereas hemorrhagic brain stroke or brain hemorrhage occurs when the veins that supply blood to the brain burst due to various reasons. Hemorrhagic brain stroke or brain hemorrhage occurs in about 15 percent of people.

The cause of ischemic stroke is diabetes, hypertension, smoking, dietary disturbances, increase in lipid cholesterol. Due to this, the blood vessels become thin and they get jammed due to the accumulation of fat inside them. In this case the blood does not go further. In some people, if there is a heart problem, especially if there is atrial fibrillation inside the heart, then small lumps or clots are formed in the blood of the heart and they accidentally move towards the brain, then the blood vessels of the brain block according to its size. It happens. Blood supply does not go beyond this. This is visible in young people. A person may faint, may feel dizzy due to ischemic brain stroke. There may be emptiness in one side of the body. The face may become crooked or the voice may also go away.

Cause of hemorrhagic brain stroke
Hemorrhagic brain stroke or brain hemorrhage occurs in 99 percent of people due to bursting of blood vessels. Headache or fainting is its main symptom.
If there is already a bad blood vessel, there is a damage or balloon formed in it, which is called an aneurysm, or there is a defect in the vein, which is called Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) or there is very high hypertension, due to which there is a lot of pressure inside the brain. Finely small balloons are formed, which are called very aneurysms, and their bursting also causes hemorrhagic brain stroke. Fluctuating blood pressure several times can also cause a brain vein to burst. This thing comes more in winter.

Treatment
Dr. Rahul Gupta says that if there is a lot of damage in the blood vessels, the veins have burst, a balloon has formed or there is a problem in the veins since childhood. In that case it is repaired by an operation. So that bleeding does not happen again. Whereas mild bleeding is treated with medicines. If there is brain ischemia i.e. the blood vessels are closed and the blood supply is not going, then immediately the damage of that part will be visible in the CT scan. That blockage is removed with medicines or special techniques. He says that within 4 to 6 hours of having a stroke, reach such a hospital where the best neurosurgeons, neurologists, facilities for CT scan, CT angiography, MRI, echocardiography of the heart are available. Then the life of the patient can be saved. If more time is wasted in going here and there, then it can be fatal for his life.
