Hearing in Adani-Hindenburg case today, two petitions are filed in Supreme Court

There will be a hearing in the Supreme Court today in the Adani-Hindenburg case. The petition filed states that due to the Hindenburg Report, investors have suffered loss of lakhs of crores. In a January 24 report by Hindenburg Research, allegations of fraud were leveled against the Adani Group of Companies. After this, there was a huge decline in the shares of the company. The petition has been filed on behalf of advocate Manohar Lal Sharma.

Two petitions will be heard

On Thursday, February 9, another petition was filed in the matter. Petitioner advocate Vishal Tiwari said that this matter is related to the nation’s reputation. The Supreme Court listed the matter for hearing along with the old petition filed in the matter. In the petition, a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of a retired judge of the Supreme Court to probe the Hindenburg report.

Demand to set up SIT

It has been said in the petition that the investigation is necessary for the dignity and sovereignty of the country. Apart from this, there has been a demand to constitute a special committee for the sanction policy for high power loans above 500 crores. Vishal Tiwari has said in his petition that the Supreme Court should conduct an inquiry under the supervision of a retired apex court judge to investigate the allegations leveled against Adani Group. In the petition, the Supreme Court has been requested to issue instructions to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
