India beat Kangaroo team badly in Nagpur Test

IND vs AUS Nagpur Test: The Indian team has badly defeated the Australian team in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Team India won the first Test match played in Nagpur within three days and took a 1-0 lead in the four-match series. After trailing by 223 runs on the basis of the first innings score, Australia were reduced to just 91 runs in the second innings. That is why the Kangaroo team lost the match by an innings and 132 runs. Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant performance with both the ball and the bat.

The two main spinners of the team Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were the heroes in this victory for India. While Jadeja took a total of 7 wickets in both the innings (1st innings-5, 2nd innings-2), Ashwin took a total of 8 wickets (1st innings-3, 2nd innings-5) due to 5 wickets in the second innings. Ravindra Jadeja and Akshar Patel also did wonders with the bat. Jadeja scored 70 and Akshar scored 84 runs. At the same time, for India, captain Rohit Sharma had scored a century in the first innings and scored 120 runs. On the other hand, no batsman of the Australian team could score more than 49 runs in both the innings.

If we talk about the World Test Championship, now Team India’s winning percentage has gone from 58 to 62. And the Australian team had to come down from 75% to 71%. However, the Australian team is on the toss in the table. Team India is at number two position. Now if Team India wins this series by 2-0, 3-1 or 4-0, then it will make it to the finals of the second consecutive edition of the Test Championship. The final match will be played from June 7 to June 11 at The Oval Ground in London. June 12 has been kept as reserve day.

What was the condition of Nagpur Test?

Now if we talk about Nagpur Test, Australian captain Pat Cummins had won the toss and he had decided to bat first. The Australian team was reduced to just 177 runs in the first innings. In response, India scored 400 runs thanks to Rohit’s century and Jadeja and Akshar’s half-centuries and took a lead of 223 runs. After this, in the second innings, the Australian team was able to score 91 runs in just 32.3 overs and lost all their 10 wickets. The Indian spinners dominated the match and 16 wickets were taken by the spinners. Out of that a total of 15 wickets were taken by the pair of Ashwin and Jadeja only. Now the second match of the series will be played in Delhi from 17 February.
