Snowfall continues in the mountains
Weather update: While it has been sunny since morning in the plain states, rain and snowfall continues in the hilly areas. The weather has started changing rapidly in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. It is raining and snowing in some areas, while in some areas there are chances of rain between sunshine and clouds. At the same time, due to increase in temperature in the plains, the day is no longer feeling cold, there is mild cold in the evening and morning. Clouds are being seen here and there throughout the day. The cold has almost gone away from the national capital Delhi.
Five feet of snow is frozen in Kedarnath
Snowfall continued in the higher hills including Kedarnath and Badrinath since yesterday. There has been snowfall in many areas of Kedarnath Dham, Badrinath Dham, Lahaul Spiti of Himachal on Friday. It is still snowing in many areas today. There has been snowfall in Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib and Gaurso. There was light rain in Chamoli. It was partly cloudy in Dehradun on Saturday morning, however, as the day progressed, the sun shone again. Due to rain in Mussoorie and Chakrata, the cold has increased.

Chance of rain and snow today and tomorrow
According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of light rain and snowfall in many areas of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh today and tomorrow. There is a possibility of partly cloudy sky and light showers in the surrounding areas including Dehradun. Let us tell you that for the last several days, the process of rain and snowfall had stopped in the state, but since Friday, due to snowfall in the higher peaks, the cold has increased. Due to the activation of Western Disturbance, the weather patterns in the state can change.
According to Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Centre, Uttarakhand may remain cloudy today and tomorrow in the hilly areas. There may be rain and hailstorm with thunder at some places. Snowfall is also expected on the peaks in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh. There is a possibility of lightning with thunder in the plains.
Grand plan work stopped in Badrinath Dham
It has been snowing in Badrinath Dham for the last several days, due to which the work on the master plan being done there has also stopped. The administration has currently called back about 300 workers and around 100 officers and employees working in Dham to Joshimath. The administration says that the work of the master plan will be resumed as soon as the weather becomes favourable.
