The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court stating that women are also allowed to enter the mosque and offer prayers. On behalf of the board, it was said that women are free to go to the mosque, although it depends on them whether they want to offer namaz in the mosque or not. Apart from this, it has been said in the affidavit that women cannot offer Namaz while sitting with men. Advocate MR Shamshad filed an affidavit on behalf of the Board.

Farah Anwar Hussain Sheikh had filed a petition in 2020 to consider the alleged ban on the entry of Muslim women into the mosque as unconstitutional.
AIMPLB’s affidavit states that it is an expert body and does not have any power related to religion. It can only give advice while talking about the principles of Islam. If we believe according to Islam then there is no discrimination against women. However, the board does not want to comment on those who do not agree with this view. In this reply, it was said that five times prayer and Friday prayer have not been made compulsory for women. Although it is necessary for men. It has been said in Islam that if women want, they can offer Namaz at home too. For this Allah will be equally kind to them.
