Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has imposed a financial penalty of Rs 20 lakh on airline Air Aisa for violating rules. DGCA says that AirAsia has lapses in training of pilots and did not do necessary exercises in pilot proficiency rating check. This is in violation of DGCA rules.

Apart from this, the head of training of Air Asia has also been removed from the post for three months for failing to discharge his duties. Apart from this, a fine of Rs 3 lakh each has also been imposed on eight nominated examiners.
