Asia’s biggest aero show, Aero India 2023 is all set to be held in Bengaluru from 13 February. In this aero show to be held at Yelahanka Air Force Station, a picture of India moving towards self-reliance in the defense sector will be seen. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the aero show to introduce the air power of our country.

Full picture of India’s strength will be seen on Monday. Today full dress rehearsal was done for this aero show and army family members were also invited to watch it. A glimpse of how strong and self-reliant the Indian Air Force has become in the last few years was seen in the rehearsal today.

PM Modi will also witness the picture of self-reliant India in the defense sector on Monday. He will be welcomed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), not 1 or two, but 15 helicopters. At the 2023 Aero India Show, HAL has prepared a self-sufficient formation by adding its Advanced Light Helicopter ALH, Light Utility Helicopter LUH and Light Combat Helicopter LCH. This formation will be introduced for the first time in Aero India 2023, a glimpse of which was also seen in the full dress rehearsal today.

During the rehearsal, our own Light Combat Aircraft LCA Tejas mesmerized the audience by showing amazing aerobatics, while the Sukhoi 30 also proved its mettle in the skies of Bengaluru. When the modern light fighter aircraft Rafale, which joined the Air Force fleet, took off, people were surprised to see its efficiency.

Display of 200 weapons and defense hardware

This time the power of Russia will also be seen in the Aero Show. According to Russia’s state defense company Rosoboronexport, about 200 weapons and defense hardware will be displayed in this aero show. The aero show will feature Russia’s military transport planes, aerial refueling tankers, 5th generation Sukhoi-35 fighter jets, Sukhoi-30SME and MiG-35D multirole frontline fighter planes.

Apart from these, Russian company KA-226T light utility helicopters will also be displayed, which can be manufactured by Indo-Russia Helicopter Limited, a joint venture of the two countries, under the Make in India program. The air show will also showcase Russia’s advanced Ka-52E, Mi-28NE attack helicopters and Mi-171SH military transport rotorcraft, which are in great demand across the world.

Orlan drones demonstrated outside Russia for the first time

Significantly, Russia is exhibiting its Orlan drones outside Russia for the first time. This drone can also be used in surveillance and attack like America’s Predator drones. Suryakiran and Sarang, India’s best aerobatic team will also enthrall the audience with their breath-taking aerial manoeuvres. A glimpse of the amazing aerial stunts of Suryakiran’s brave pilot and helicopter Sarang’s team dressed like a peacock, through jet trainer Flight Hawk MK 132, was also seen during the rehearsal today.

Today the family members of the army got a chance to watch the rehearsal and whoever saw this power of the Indian Air Force was amazed. Asia’s largest arms exhibition, Aero India, to be held from 13th February for 5 days, will witness an aerial display by the Indian Air Force as well as a synergy of leading aerospace and defense business. DRDO will showcase indigenous defense technologies and systems during the 14th Aero India, with an aim to bring all stakeholders of defense research and development in the country on a single platform. The Aero Show 2023 aims to promote the domestic aviation industry while promoting Make in India.
