Ahmedabad: Gujarat Pradesh Congress leaders on Friday came down heavily on Minister of State for Home Harsh Shanghvi for his comments on former party president Rahul Gandhi. Party MLA Jignesh Mevani ridiculed Shanghvi for being a minister in the Bharatiya Janata Party government despite being an ‘eighth pass’. Shanghvi’s taunt came a day after the former Congress president tried to corner Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government on the Adani issue in Parliament. Dalit leader and Congress MLA from Vadgam Mevani attacked Minister of State for Home Sanghvi over his educational qualification.

Harsh Sanghvi told ‘8th pass’ Home Minister
Mevani Shanghvi But tauntingly said on Twitter, ‘Now one thing is ‘confirmed’! Even if you are 8th pass and you don’t have an iota of intelligence, you can become the home minister in the BJP government.’ Gujarat Pradesh Congress chief Jagdish Thakor also took on the minister over the issue of law and order in the state. Using the hashtag ‘8th pass home minister’, Thakor tweeted, “Gujarat is grappling with question paper leak, incidents of illicit liquor and drug trafficking.”

PM Modi retaliated in Parliament
In his tweet, Thakor further said, ‘On what moral grounds do people who have failed to provide security to women and are squandering money in the name of development, suddenly start talking about other people’s intelligence?’ Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi also retaliated strongly in Parliament after Rahul Gandhi’s allegations and kept his point with poetry and couplets.
