Referring to the recent increase in ‘Value Added Tax’ (VAT) on petrol and diesel by the governments of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, the Finance Minister said that the central government has not increased the prices of petrol and diesel since June 2022, while the opposition The situation is reverse in many states. When some members of the ruling party were referring to Rajasthan in this regard, Sitharaman said, “There is a lot wrong in Rajasthan, last year’s budget is being read this year.” Mistake can happen to anyone. But God bless that such a mistake does not happen. It should not happen that one has to read last year’s budget.”

Earlier, while participating in the discussion on the budget, BJP MP Rahul Kaswan had said that leave aside ‘paper leak’ in Rajasthan, it has now become a ‘budget leak’. Kaswan, a member of the Churu Lok Sabha from Rajasthan, claimed that Rajasthan has topped in terms of corruption, crimes against women and unemployment in the last four years.
